The international professional discussion was held within the Year of Tourism Russia-Italy. It was organized by the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve within the framework of the Problems of cultural heritage preservation. Twenty-first century with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, together with the State Hermitage Museum, the St. Isaac Cathedral State Museum, the Union of Restorers of St. Petersburg and the Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop. The theme was defined by the fact that Italy and Russia possess the richest deposits of colored stone, which has been widely used for centuries in architecture, creating decorative garden and park sculptures, interior decoration, and have significant experience in the theory and practice of restoration.
